Visual Alignment Guidance System

Night Rating – Ground School Runway Lighting Visual Alignment Guidance System

The Visual Alignment Guidance System (VAGS) consists of two lights similar to RTILs. However, by means of light beam rotation, the pilot is presented with a sequenced display, as shown in the figure provided. The display directs the pilot towards the runway axis, where the pilot then sees the lights flash simultaneously.
