Light Gun Signals

Light gun signals are a means of visual communication used by air traffic controllers to convey instructions to pilots when radio communication is not possible or unreliable. In addition to the signals listed below, pilots should be aware that the firing of a red pyrotechnical light at military control towers means do not land for the time being and blinking runway lights advise vehicles and pedestrians to vacate runways immediately.
