Runway Threshold Lights and End Lights

Runway threshold lights are provided in a line along the landing threshold at the touchdown end of a runway. They emit a green directional light and mark the beginning of the runaway for arriving traffic. When viewed from the opposite direction they emit a red directional light and are known as runway end lights. As the name suggests they mark the end of the runway from the opposite direction and can be used by departing and arriving traffic.
