Runway Visual Range – The Wise Pilot

The range over which the pilot of an aircraft on the centre line of a runway can see the runway surface markings or the lights delineating the runway or identifying its centre line.

Glossary: Low Visibility Operations Plan
A plan that calls for specific procedures established by the aerodrome operator and/or ATS when aerodrome visibility is below RVR 1,200 (1⁄4 SM).
Glossary: Reduced Visibility Operations Plan
A plan that calls for specific procedures established by the aerodrome operator and/or ATC when aerodrome visibility is below RVR 2,600 (1⁄2 SM) down to and including RVR 1,200 (1⁄4 SM).
