Convergence

Atmospheric lift is the process in which air is transported from the lower levels of the atmosphere to the upper levels of the atmosphere. It can occur in many way as will be discussed in this lesson.

Convergence is a phenomenon occurring in the atmosphere in which two prevailing flows meet leading to the vertical movement of air and to the formation of clouds and precipitation.

Surface divergence on the other hand is characterized by subsiding air and fair weather conditions
