Terminal Area Forecast (TAF)

A TAF is an aerodrome forecast, which describes the most probable weather conditions expected to occur within 5 NM of the geometric centre of an aerodrome. It is used to facilitate pre-flight and in-flight requirements of flight operations. A sample report, with brief explanations, is provided in the slider below along with a table describing the most common qualifiers and weather phenomena contained within a TAF.
